Christmas Cards made at Art of Craft and Pickwell

Hi ladies,
i have been a good girl and downloaded cards as promised.
Hope you like them.

These are made from the new photo aperture cards. using a 6 x6 stamp inside the aperture the stamp is from the home for xmas range.
This stamp in the card i photographed on a light beige cushion, (made at art of craft) is stamped in black. the aperture card is inked in artiste die ink dark yellow - then stamped with home for xmas cross stitch hearts olive/red ink and small red solid hearts. the holly and baubles are stamped on green and red card with gold ink and embossed in gold. then cut out and stuck on with silicone glue.
the card photographed on a dark background  (Pickwell farm) is stamped in brown on the background inside the aperture.
the card is inked up in pigment dark yellow (direct to paper) and embossed with enchanted gold embossing powder. the baubles were stamped onto some home for xmas red paper. also embossed and cut out. holley stamped and embossed on green card . the cross stitch hearts and sentiment are also stamped and embossed cut out and 3d'd on card .

This card is made using a home for xmas stamps . the tree is stamped using the new artiste pigment ink.
first stamped all over in the dark yellow, then i used a dabbing action randomly over this with a dark orange. finally also dabbing here and there with a chocolate ink pad. then when stamped it has a nice varigated effect.
i then embossed it with a clear pearl powder.  i added sparkly stones and a ribbon. matted and layered the image on red home for xmas paper. with gold mirri under that.
the white card was covered in a heart - home for xmas paper.
the sentiment is also a stamp from home for xmas range. the larger label stamped on kraft paper in red ink.
Bakers twine is wrapped around and then a bow to finish over the top stamped label.

These are two little stamped up 4 x 4 cards. the main subject are the tulip stamps. coloured in with the new Artiste permanent pens - vintage. using bows and stones to accent them.
just matted onto some boofle red paper and or home for xmas red paper. on the xmas tree card i have inked the edges in green ink and on the snowman one there is red mirri board behind the image.

This is a quick card, made up from the Michael Powel tall card decoupage kit. i just used on layer on top of the pre stamped image on the card, and cut the xmas tree from a further piece that could go on top. i decided i just wanted the tree. lots and lots left over to make more cards from this one kit. the sentiment is from the tulip range.

This is a card i made at about 3 .45 as someone asked about the glitter toppers . this is very simple and could be elaborated on. i used a frame from the ultimate die cut set for boofle which i love.

I did do a scrapbook page, not taken a photo yet, but will load that up tomorrow

Marjie's 65th Birthday present

I have not been able to post this before as it was for a dear friend who i have know for nearly 60yrs !
this was for her 65th and retirement party.

it started off quite bright, as you see above , but got sprayed and muted as i added photos and embellishments. she did love it. as it has photo's of family and friends in it too.i have taken some photos from different bits of it and zoomed in a bit too.

even managed a few rub ons to go inside & add interest

I must admit i was very happy with it too.

Wednesday 11 July 2012

Managed to sneak a few hours up in my crafting attic room tonight . So relaxing and all the stresses and strains of the day at work just melt away ! I have made a very over the top A3 card for my sister in law ,

who has been so marvelous helping my Mother in Law to move house etc i couldnt made a card bigger or blingy enough to say how much we thank her. hope she likes it

It also gave me a chance to use two lovely dies i bought recently. the buckle i have been looking for it seems like ages.

Scrapbook with Chelsea green, step by step

I loved taking the grandchildren to the 'Look out ' in Bracknell last Saturday, thank god it wasn't this Saturday, would have been swimming costumes !!
I thought the new Do-crafts Chelsea Green 12 x 12 ideal for outdoor scrapping.
step by step instructions if you want to have a go

i started with a deep green page  -  then added  a strip of a light green flower paper at the top.
a ripped   strip from a mid green flower page and added to the bottom.
this is inked with a gold ink pad - i have also inked with gold the brown self adhesive strip from the daisy chains pack.
i also added a strip of light green check paper over the top flowered paper.
Next i made the 'Swings'  using kraft paper  turned down the top and inked with red. punched holes  at the top , added some jewellery chains fixed at the back with the red brads. I first matted the photo's onto green glitter card. and then onto the kraft swings. the chains at the top were attached to the check  strip of paper right through all the layers with small brads. and the  swings stuck down to where i wanted them to be on the page.

using silicone glue, i put the large strip of green glitter on top of the chains held by brads, the silicone glue raised the strip to the same level as the chains and brads at the back, just to even it up and tidy it all up.
I coloured in some of the flowers and leaves on the light green flower paper at the top of the page with whispers brush markers in red and green
Also colouring and cutting some flowers out from the left over paper and decoupaging onto the page.
Finally adding the red letters to say swing , little chelsea green buttons on the decoupaged flowers and some journalling to say about the day in white pen with little white hearts  and some crystals in green and red.

matching page for the twins lincoln linen page

when i scrapbook, i like the facing pages to be similar. not the same, just similar
 .
This is the matching page for the page i did for a step by step tutorial in June, entitled a simple scrapbook page anyone can follow- this is also using the Lincoln Linen paper pack

For my Hero

Some of you will know my Husband had a major back operation last september for degenerative scoliosis, he had 13hrs of surgery in 2 weeks.
He is starting to walk without his back brace and is hoping to go back to work soon. he is very brave and i made this anniversary card for him as its our 18th wedding anniversary tomorrow and with all that in mind he is my Hero. hope you & he, likes it

The background paper is from a stunning pack called Bella Bella from my minds eye. which i found again when having a sort out in my crafting attic. the toppers are cut out from a 12 x 12. by graphics 45
the following is a scrapbook page using the same book of papers. so easy for anyone just starting scrapbooking. you almost just have to add your photos and a bit of bling !

Busy week that has flown by !

This week has flown by , lots of stuff to get ready for my first Demo of this loop. too much to choose from as usual.!!
have made a couple of special cards i am quite pleased with and a couple almost straight from the magazine with a few tweaks.
hope you like them !

I used an 8x8 kraft card, I folded in at the top and bottom corners to make like an envelope shape .
using the traditional xmas paper pack i matted script paper on to gold mirror card and then on the front of the kraft card under the flaps.
the flaps were then covered in gold mirror card i had embossed with a snowflake folder.

I decoupaged a dancing couple from the strictly xmas glitter decoupage kit and matted that onto green glitter card first and then the red snowflake paper from the paper pack. that image was then stuck on the front of the card , slightly under the gold flaps. punch a hole in each side of the flap and tie with red ribbon as shown.
the inside of the card is covered with red snowflake paper matted over gold mirror card, i die cut a strip of snowflakes out of the gold with a tim holtz on the edge design and then embossed it with a dotty folder for texture. this is stuck down the inside edge, embellished with red crystals.
the front is also embellished with red crystals and red sparkly dome stickers.

This is also an 8x8 card in white. covered in pretty purple/blue paper from the strictly party A4 ultimate die cut set. the chosen image was matted first onto back, with black lace added down the edge and then onto some blue from the same pack. again matted onto black. this is stuck on the side of the card.
on the top left i have stamped 'Party !' 2 and a bit times in white ink with a sparkly white embossing powder.
and also the treble clefs are stamped in the same way. i have added some stickles for extra glitter.
I made up the box from the same die cut pack but used a label from the pack to stick on the front of the box with added brad and ribbon.  so box is open. i added a party girl image and the party sentiment at the bottom . also filled box with pamper party goodies, nail varnishes and or lipsticks.

The following cards are from the creativity magazine, july/august
The dress card is almost the same as the one in the mag. the snow flake one is quite a bit different as i had to use papers i already had and an embossing folder to get a snowflake effect& also added some glitter vellum.

Up-dated an old crafting tool bag

I had a sort of dirty pink canvas bag that contained all my crafting tools to go !
it was getting grotty and although i put it through the washing machine , sadly still grotty.
So, when i saw an article in the Craft stamper recently about colouring and stamping a canvas bag,
well, i had to have a go. nothing lost i thought.
I have to say i am very happy with my new up dated bag , let me know if you like it ?

I painted it with 2 coats of cream acrylic paint. when dry i then stamped some of my favourite stamps on both sides with black dye ink. coloured with peel off pens. then covered it with claudine hellmuth studio multi-medium gloss. this made it waterproof and quite sturdy. i finished off with lots of ribbons lace and bling

I think its a very easy page to start someone on Scrapbooking. simple but effective !

its a couple of photos from a very dear friends Birthday and we are all so happy. i decided to scrap the photos.
The paper used is a lovely glittery DCWV 12 x 12 stack pack and the embellishments are trimcraft.
I used two sheets of paper from the pack, the orange page and the blue wavy edges are cut from another page and stuck on down the side with added flower brads. i made a little envelope from the same page and added it on the page with a small crystal brad added. it has a little note inside saying how much i appreciate my lovely friend. i matted the 'friends' sentiment on some deep orange card and then added sticky ribbon to the top of the page.

Thank you for hopping over to see me, now it's time to hop on over to the next blog... next on the list is........ NJ - http://pinkdelightcraft.blogspot.com

oh no - not xmas already !!

Got my new do-craft box this morning at 7.30am !! made a decision not to look at magazine. not a peep. took the Ultimate die cut set, Christmas Tidings and thought about what i would do with them.
I normally get inspired by the magazine and then make my own cards as well. like adapting a recipe.
anyway as i have over a week to first demo i wanted to do it this way around. so these are my first cards inspired by the pack and me only hope you like them
This is using a square card covered with gold card leaving a small cream border of card showing still.
i love this topper from the Christmas Tidings A4 ultimate die cut set ( all the cards are made from this pack)
matted onto some of the glitter A5 paperatzy pack -chelsea green. then onto the holly vellum from goody bag. added some xmas bells strung with raffia and fixed with a red brad. then a foiled xmas stamp greeting cut down to fit.
Also from the same pack, this is an A4 card. again covered with gold mirri card.  i used the script paper and the garland paper cut into strips to make borders. these borders were matted onto gold and then onto a red die cut border from the pack. the tags were also matted onto gold and cut out.they were fixed with a gem brad - i  finished with green stones on the garlands
another square card, this time in pale blue, the matted layers are a deeper blue first then silver under a dark blue script paper from the same pack. i cut a small triangle of the xmas vellum and stuck it on to the corner. adding two rows of silver border peel offs to hide the glue - next came red snowflake paper (edges inked in blue )matted onto white card came next, tie a blue spotty ribbon around before sticking to the dark blue on card.  .then the topper which had also been matted on silver, came next to finish. i then added a small spotty bow topped with a red gem and a red Happy Christmas sentiment also a small red gem on the vellum too.

Something i wanted to do, just for the sake of it

I am sure a lot of you would agree that sometimes its just nice to make something because you want to, not for any reason, not to use for gallery or demo. just for me.
well that was me this evening. had some fun with some lovely stamps and inks

I started with a  square card. covered the  card in a light turquoise leaving a little cream edge.
On a basic grey pale pink paper ( cut to mat over the light turquoise ) i inked edges with distressed ink, milled lavender & leave to dry.
meanwhile i stamped a paper artsy 'angel' in brown and embossed with a sugar plum embossing powder, i also stamped and embossed in brown ink on the pale pink basic grey paper, the two flowers from the stampers anonymous stamps above.
before matting on the angel, i stamped down the side with the checked border from the stamp set with soft blue and embossed with clear ink. then inked over it with the milled lavender and some soft brown and as it was stamped and embossed it resisted most of it :-)
, also used soft brown around the edges of card to soften the light turquoise card.
the flowers cut out and layered, lightly inked in brown and light turquoise also.
the centre of the flower was stamped onto brown card and cut out.

i also made the card below with the same technique. this one was inspired by one in the craft stamper a while ago by Paula Tidman
